Group Fitness: Energetic Connection And What I Miss The Most

A few weeks ago, I drove to Virginia to attend my first hot yoga class in over a year! Wild, right? Prior to COVID-19, I would typically do yoga a handful of times during the month and there was definitely a couple of hard seasons where hot yoga was my salvation 5 times a week. After getting in 6o-minutes of stretching and sweating alongside – distant and masked – strangers, I was flooded with pure love and appreciation for the powerful, energetic union that is group fitness.

Let’s Dig In: Reviewing Siggi’s Plant-Based Coconut Yogurt

Hands up if you love yogurt but need to limit or omit because you have a food sensitivity or are lactose intolerant? *Raises hand* I love dairy but if I eat too much of it, I will become sick, e.g., sore throat and plugged ears for days. Because of this, I need to be extra choosy when it comes to what I eat and how often, dairy-wise. A few months ago I moved to the USA from Canada and I’m beyond thrilled for all the new foods and health products I can now try out. And friends, Siggi’s vegan yogurt did not disappoint! It’s everything I have ever hoped for in a plant-based yogurt alternative.

Vacation Workouts and The 5 Things I Always Pack

Do you workout on vacation? It may sound strange, but it’s one of the things I most look forward to when taking a trip. When I’m on vacation I generally feel energized (sayonara, work!) and have more time to gently enter the day before jumping into my morning workout. My husband and I have a few upcoming trips that I need to start packing for which inspired me to share with you my exercise mindset when vacationing and the 5 workout essentials I always pack with me when travelling.

A Coffeeless Chat: How Much Caffeine Do You Consume in a Day?

As I write this, I’m sitting at my desk with a hot cup of Earl Grey Tea secretly wishing I had coffee instead. I adore coffee! Ever since my University days, I have relied on Joe to give me a strong kick in the ass first thing in the morning and to fuel both my productivity and creativity at work. For years I had known that my consumption was on the higher side and that I should probably cut back. But a few weeks ago, I randomly Googled, how much caffeine can I have in a day? and discovered that the answer was way more complicated than I originally thought.

Trader Joe's Cauliflower Pizza Crust

Let’s Dig In: Reviewing Trader Joe’s Cauliflower Pizza Crust

Last week while shopping at Trader Joe’s, I came across Trader Joe’s Cauliflower Pizza Crust and thought, let’s give it a go! Frozen pizza crust is a good option for nights when you’re short on time but still want to incorporate fresh ingredients into your meal. When I brought it home, my husband wasn’t entirely impressed. But after I read out loud the 7 simple ingredients from the back of the box: Cauliflower, Cornflour, Water, Cornstarch, Potato Starch, Olive Oil, Salt – and expressed enthusiastically – that it was made in Italy, he shrugged his shoulders, walked away and said, “fine, I’ll try it.”

5 Reasons to Ditch The Gym Forever and Start Working Out at Home

I used to be the type of person who only worked out at the gym or fancy and expensive workout studios. Then COVID-19 happened, and well, we were all forced to adjust our workout routine. I remember researching online for possible solutions when I saw an ad for Beachbody on Demand. Full disclosure: I had serious reservations. I didn’t think it was possible to get in a decent workout from my living room with a few dumbbells. Now almost a full year of exclusively doing at home workouts (aside from running or cycling outside), I can confidently say I won’t ever go back to the gym full-time. This new way of working out has completely changed my mindset around what I can achieve fitness-wise from the comfort of my own home.
